I grew up in Wrightsville Beach, NC, and the beach is my favorite place on earth! I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's Degree in French Education and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I have taught Pre-K, been an Exceptional Education resource teacher, and for the past five years have been teaching French at Estes Hills. I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten students, and to be working with their families. I look forward to seeing every kindergarten student grow and gain a love of learning new things over the course of every year.
Williams' Wonderful Whos
Hi! Thank you so much for reading this! I am so thrilled to begin this year and I look forward to having an exciting year with your Kindergarten student! We are going to learn about so much. The adventure is just beginning!
I am originally from Panama City, Florida and have been fortunate enough to travel to different places not only in the United States, but overseas as well. I love studying about different cultures, languages, and foods. I graduated from high school in Durham, NC and then went to college in Charlotte, NC at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I majored strictly in Elementary K-6 and have a concentration in Visual and Performing Arts.
I've been fortunate enough to have taught for a brief period of time in a variety of different school settings, including an English-Greek hybrid school. I have also taught at least one lesson/mini-lesson(s) to all grade levels K-6. I have taught 3rd grade the longest out of the K-6 grade levels, but stepped away from returning to a 3rd grade classroom to pursue my love of Kindergarten.
In my spare time I enjoy attending concerts, music/themed festivals, comic book inspired movies/shows, and cooking.
I grew up in Garden City, NY and moved to North Carolina in 1996. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998 with my B.A. in English. I then completed my Elementary Education coursework at Elon College (now Elon University) and began teaching at Seawell Elementary School in 2001, where I taught First Grade and Kindergarten. I stepped away from the classroom from 2005-2013 to be at home with my children and returned to teaching in the Fall of 2013, here at Estes Hills. I am thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten!

I grew up in Winston-Salem and I went to UNC-Chapel Hill where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Literacy Education. For three years, I worked as a reading specialist in Orange County Schools. For the following five years, I taught first grade in Orange County Schools. For seven years, I was at home in Durham raising my three children and teaching education courses at two local community colleges on a part-time basis. I returned to teaching 6 years ago at Estes Hills. My daughter, Shelby, and son, Will, will be in 8th and 6th grade at Phillips. My son, Jack, will be in 5th grade. Last winter, we added a fourth child to the mix, Jenna Kate, who is now 6 months old. My husband, Jon, teaches at Riverside High School in Durham. I am so excited to get to know your families this year!
