Panthers Class Website
Hi! I'm Ann Partin. I've lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 2001 when I moved here from my home state of Florida. Since my father served in the United States Air Force when I was growing up, my family and I lived in many interesting places, including Alaska, Texas, New York, North Dakota, Florida, and Germany - good thing I like to travel! I'm married to Rob Partin and have two children, Katie (junior at East Chapel Hill High) and Robby (7th grader at Phillips Middle School).
I have degrees in Education and Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University, and have been an elementary school teacher since 1991. This will be my seventh year teaching fourth grade at Estes Hills Elementary. I'm looking forward to getting to know my 2015-2016 Panthers!!
I am proud to be a member of the Estes Hills teaching team! I am looking forward to continued collaborations with our inspired staff and committed families, and to coaching this year’s “season” of Tanagers through an exciting and productive year.
This is my fourth year at Estes Hills. Prior to completing a master’s program in elementary education at North Carolina State University in May of 2013, I worked as a hospital-based pediatrician for many years in the Bronx, NY and later in Durham, NC. Although I enjoyed my first career, I’m thrilled with my choice to become an educator and feel very fortunate to be working with such a supportive staff and community.
I hope your children will enjoy our time together and will leave our room next spring feeling excited about learning, ready to take on new challenges, and proud of their accomplishments. I welcome your input and support, and look forward to having ongoing conversations about your child’s experiences and achievements.

I am so excited to be starting my second year as part of the Estes Hills family! I have had the pleasure of being a teacher for 8 years. I have taught 6th grade in Connecticut, 1st and 2nd grades in Burlington and am very happy to be in 4th grade at Estes Hills again this year.
On a personal note, I was raised in Connecticut and moved to North Carolina 3 years ago. I have two daughters, one in 5th grade (and also at Estes), and a 2 year old.
I look forward to many years of teaching in the Estes Hills community!
